Erik started his career in 1967 as a Candidate Valuer with the Valuation Department of the (then) Cape Provincial Administration where he gained experience before being appointed Valuation Officer with the Stellenbosch District Council in 1973.

Six years later in 1979, he worked as valuer with the Dept of Public Works in Pretoria and Cape Town responsible for valuations in land acquisitions and expropriations of state-owned property.

The last 30 years Erik has been operating as a private valuer from his offices in Wellington. In this time Erik has established himself as one of the foremost private valuers in the Cape region specialising in agricultural, commercial and residential valuations.

Jean started his career in 2000 as a Surveyor for the London Borough of Hackney in the UK for 3 years before he acquainted himself as a Land Survey Technician back in South Africa in 2005.

This led him to offshore survey industry where he worked as a Hydrographic Surveyor up until 2012 working in the oil and gas and subsea cable industry.

After completing his MBA degree with the University of Stellenbosch in 2015, he has been fully committed to Real Direct being a Professional Associate Valuer.
